Bangkok #3

Of course, I also took any number of photographs of the things that all the tourists take photographs of. You can find dozens, if not hundreds, of nearly identical pictures on the internet. These are all ones that I took though.

Bangkok: Less Usual Scenes #8

And to finish the less usual scenes, I can't resist posting this photograph of the railway station on the day I left Bangkok, the last time I was there. Yes, the sign does say "Big Cleaning Toilet Day".

Bangkok: Less Usual Scenes #3

Even the streets, often have rather beautiful architecture.

Bangkok: Less Usual Scenes #2

In Bangkok anybody can take pictures of a temple, there are thousands of them. On the other hand you can look at anything from telephone boxes and dustbins and see stuff that's just as interesting. Here, for example, is a lampost.

Bangkok: Less Usual Scenes #1

I thought I'd do a couple of sequences from my files of Bangkok photos. I've been there a couple of times and it's one of the most photogenic cities that I have ever seen. So we'll start with a slightly unusual view of the city from the roof of one of the hotels.

Angels,The House on the Rock

From my favourite museum in England, to my favourite museum in the world - the utterly bizarre and wonderful House on the Rock, a huge collection of the weirdest stuff you could hope to see in one place. Carvings of Angels, for example.

Streets/Black Country Living Museum

My favourite museum in England is the Black Country Living Museum, a recreation of a whole town from about a hundred years ago. This picture fits both the previous theme of "Streets" and the new one of "The Black Country Living Museum".

Streets #5

Paraty, in Brazil, is one of the prettiest towns that I have encountered in my travels.

Streets #4

Ban Hui Xai, in Laos, has the dubious disinction of having the dirtiest hotel that I have ever stayed in. This street scene shows more or less the entire town.

Streets #3

Although the guide books sometimes recommend against walking around the area, the artists quarter of Buenos Aires is remarkably colourful and photogenic.

Streets #2

Street scene: New York, USA
The great thing about walking around New York is that, even if you have never been there before, the streets are so familiar from the movies that it feels completely familiar.

Spam

Please note that all three of my blogs have today suffered incredibly annoying spam attacks from one spammer which have taken (and continue to take) a long time to clear up.

Thanks to this I have been forced to turn comment moderation on. Comments will only appear from now on AFTER I have approved them.

Snow and Ice #8

And finally a nice panoramic scene. I love photographs with reflections and I think this is a fine example. Double clicking on the image should give you a larger look at it.

Another bleak landscape. More of that ethereal drifting steam. This time with some people.

Snow and Ice #6

Those iceicles could do someone a nasty injury if the thaw came.
