MIA

I know that I haven't blogged much during my summer break in the UK
and that may not change for a few weeks.
Tomorrow I start the long and wearying trek back to Bayin. As it
invloves three flights and combined layovers of sixten hours I expect
it will be rather tiring.
I also have to move to a new apartment and, here's where the computer
issue comes in, I don't know how long it will take to get a new
computer set up. Last time it was three weeks. So if I'm MIA for a
while, don't be alarmed.
Normal servic will be resumed as soon as possible.

China: Shop WIndow

There is a clothes shop which regularly redresses the two mannequins in the window. I wrote a poem about it (which can be found by looking at my other blog www.thehittingtheroadagainblues.blogspot.com).

These are some of the photographs that inspired the poem which was called, for those of you who go looking, "The Unchanging World of Mr and Mrs Sun".

It's been more than a month since I posted so it's about time we caught up a little. Here are some pictures of a visit I made to Lanzhou and to the Waterwheel Park, which is
a) a modern attraction
b) probably more interesting in summer and
c) more interesting for its sculpture than its waterwheels.

China: Another walk in Baiyin

More pictures of Baiyin, this time walking out towards the new district in the west.

China: Jingyuan County

I'm posting ahead now because soon I'll be away for my extended Spring vacation and unable to post pictures until I get back (which is the middle of February).
These pictures are of a day when I had to teach a demonstration in Jingyuan County. Afterwards I had time for a brief look around the town.
