(Note. You will not see any pictures here of the bullfights. I was there as the guest of a local bar owner but, though the locals were entertained and enthralled by it all, I found the event to be a horrible and sickening spectacle.)

Quito is built on the side of an active volcano. While I was there, there was a minor eruption that kicked out a lot of fine white ash. The city looked like this the day after.
